How long did it take for Pick Up Put Down to work?

I am about a week in and pretty much zero improvement.

DS has always been capable of settling himself (though not always), but he's intent on me resettling him everytime he wakes and trying to break that association with PUPD has most definitely yet to work.

Anyone take a while for this to work?

Yeah no. Didn't work for any of mine. Wondered why none of my children have/had teddy bears and then realised it's because I am the teddy bear.

Good luck finding something that does work though. I have no advice to offer and am a shattered shell of a woman.

Ha!! i said the exact same thing about my older two. I was always their teddy. Which is why this is frustrating with DS2...the little monkey doesnt need me to fall asleep, just to stop crying and want to go back to sleep!

How old is he?

Pyri · 04/03/2022 20:53

I’ve seen it often recommended but couldn’t see it working for my DD, I feel like it’s just prolonging the agony really

Do controlled crying and you’ll be done in a few days

Not sure how old your child is but try t
Introducing a comforter and once there attached do timed crying. I used to comfort my son until he was almost asleep then leave him with the comforter for 3 mins, go in again, repeat....

Thank you for your comments. He's 7 months. Good routine, one BF at 4am, never fed to sleep.

Cry it out is not really for me.

He has a dummy too. Great for going to sleep, but prob not helping with the wake ups.
