Losing my mind over 30 min naps

Hi All

I am at the end of my tether with my nearly 7 month old's naps. Since about 3 months he only takes 30 min naps. I read that as they get older they need less naps but for longer where as my LO is taking about 4 short naps a day 🤯

When my HV came over she asked about his naps and when I said he has 4 a day she looked at me as if I was mad and said "oh no, he only needs like 2 naps and no longer than 1.5hrs each". OK great, so tell me how exactly I am meant to do that when he only naps 30 mins!

I can't force him to sleep longer I get that. I have tried everything, leaving him in his cot for 10 mins to see if he falls back himself, rocking him etc.

Did anyone else go through this and when did the napping situ get better? His wake windows are barely 2hrs with these short naps and I find it difficult to go anywhere as he gets soooo wound up after a short time as he wants to sleep again. He will only sleep in his cot or a moving pram so going out for a meal/coffee etc with friends is difficult 😖😖
