I have a 2 year old who keeps going through periods of waking at 4/4:30. This happened a while ago and stopped but has been happening for the last couple of weeks again. The newest thing is about once a week she will wake in the night and is wide awake will not go back to sleep for 2 hours.

She naps for 2 hours a day, I’m wondering if I need to cut or cap the nap? She’s only 25 months so hesitant to cut completely? I have tried letting her have only an hour but have had no joy so far.

Any ideas?

Okay I was concerned that I had changed too much at once. I’ll let her nap longer and persevere with the later bedtime and see where that takes us. Thank you

Also at 2 she's old enough for a gro clock. Helped us with early wakings when DC1 was 18 months old.

Yes I have got one actually I think I’ll get it out and set it up. The only thing is I know she’ll get very upset and scream and shout and I want to avoid waking her brother up too. Will give it a go tonight though

You have to ride out the yelling and risk waking siblings. It's worth it in the longer run.
