Night light

Can anyone recommend a really good night light for my 3 year old who is currently in a phase of being v scared of the dark and waking multiple times needing reassurance?

Also any tips to help ease his fears?

We've tried:

Reading books about it (plop the owl)
Role playing with toys about it being safe and nice to sleep in bed at night
He's got a nightlight but I think it's a bit crap because it's either really bright or if dimmed it's still v dark in the room.
Leaving landing light on
Talking about fears in the day and trying to lessen them
Limiting TV time and making sure he isn't watching anything spooky (he's afraid of ghosts having watched a Halloween special)

His imagination is enormous now and it's wonderful when playing but it doesn't do him any favours at night bless him.

Really want to help him (and therefore me!) get better sleep. I have a 9 month old who is sleeping far better than him right now!

Thank you

When I was wee I had little glow bugs. They glowed in the dark. Every evening my dad would line them up next to the lamp to let them soak up the light to be ready for bedtime. He told me they protected little children in the dark. These exact ones:

His own little torch might make him feel more in control too.

@GromblesofGrimbledon ahh thanks. I actually also had one, a soft cuddly green one with a glowing face. I'd love to get him one!

If all else fails maybe just leave a proper lamp on for him. I know someone who's wee boy sleeps with the big light on every night! I would have thought this was a really bad idea but it doesn't seem to do him any harm...
