My 9 month old seemed to have finally cracked sleeping after many months of being shit at it! Until last week he was doing 2 naps per day - first one usually 45 mins and the second 2 hours (maybe with one resettle in the middle). He was unwell last week so I let him nap on me. Since then it's all gone wrong.

I don't feed to sleep at bedtime but I do for naps because it's quicker. I was able to transfer him to the cot once asleep where he would sleep for most of the nap. Now that's all gone tits up. He won't unlatch. If I manage to unlatch him he wakes when I transfer him and screams blue murder. I feel like I've gone back 6 months.

I have been putting him down awake the last day or two but he will only sleep for half an hour. When I go to resettle in the afternoon he won't settle without being fed and then can't be unlatched. I really can't go back to contact napping all the time. It really impacted my wellbeing before and sitting in a darkened room for two hours in the afternoon will do me no good at all.

What can I do to get him back into the swing of decent cot naps?

No idea what the answer is but just to say I feel you! We’ve just hit 4 month sleep regression and gone from 11-12 hours to a few at a time and doesn’t like going down without a nipple in her mouth! When I unlatch she wake ex My baby finger works eventually if she’s sleepy enough and gets her over… sending ❤️ - it’s rough!
