20 month old won't sleep

Hi all,

My DH has just gone back to the office after spending the last few months WFH full time. Prior to this my almost two year old had been sleep trained and would self settle after a few minutes of fussing. My DH whilst WFH thought it was too tough to hear him fuss for those few minutes and would cuddle and rock him to sleep.

Months later my DS now refuses to settle with me, even if I'm rocking, singing, cuddling him etc ive tried to sleep train again but he screams unconsolably until his dad comes home whether I'm in the room or not. With my husband however, he sleeps very easily and quickly just as long as he's in the room with him.

I know it's not a bonding issue because he's definitely a mummy's boy. All day long it's a love fest of kisses and cuddles. When he falls it's me he runs to to make him feel better. We play and laugh all day long but when it comes to sleeping he just won't sleep for me.

I'm at my wits end. I feel like I have failed as a mother, what kind of mother can't put their own child to sleep?! Has anyone ever experienced this? I don't physically just don't know what to do anymore

Any advice would be very much appreciated
TIA x
