Tips please on how to put baby back in the cot for the life of me I can't get him to stay in after the 1-2am feed! I've tried hot water bottle and keeping my hand on him but after a few seconds maybe minutes he wriggles then fights me off him! 😆 I've heard waiting 20 minutes for when they transition into deep sleep but I can't bring myself round to waiting that long to then him only wake back up again and to then start all over again!

Oh I remember those seemingly never ending nights. I promise it gets better.

Honestly the only way I stood any chance was waiting for deep sleep. And then putting really carefully down, bottom first then head and white noise on.

I always wait until DS is in proper deep sleep before I put him back down. This means waiting at least 10 minutes. One way of checking if in deep slepp is that his mouth is usually open lol, and i pick his arm up and drop it down. If it drops straight down without him resisting and stirring, then he's in deep sleep. I then put him down on his side or front (he's an older baby), really slowly and gently and say shushhhh and leave my hand on him for a little while until I know he's ok.

If baby isn't in deep sleep then they are likely to wake up and you will have to resettle again.
