Has self settling helped your baby sleep through?

My baby is almost 10 months now and is in a really good day time routine.

7am - wake
7:30am - breakfast
9am - 9oz bottle
10am - 1 hour nap
12pm - lunch
1:30pm - 9oz bottle
2pm - 1.5 hour nap
5:30pm - dinner
6:30pm - bath
6:45pm - 9oz bottle
7pm - bed

After finally getting into a good daytime routine his sleep had improved but now he hasn't slept through since Christmas and last night was the worst night yet. Waking up every hour screaming. He stops if we go and pick him up, then have to resettle him and put him back in his cot asleep.

At the moment I cuddle him to sleep but I'm wanting to see if letting him self settle helps. I'm not interested in letting him cry etc so please no sleep training suggestions.

So if you have taught your baby to self settle around a similar age, has it actually improved night time sleep?

Thanks Smile
