Only need 10 hours of night time sleep?

I know the normal range is 10-13 hours at night so I suppose some will only need 10 but the average seems to be 11.
Ds2 gets up at 5/5.30am no matter what I do.
Except this morning when I managed to get him back to sleep til 7.30. But instead of napping 2.5 hours over 2 naps as usual today he's only napped 45 mins so I think must have been counting this morning as day time sleep.
Shall I just accept it and put him to bed at 8pm and try to transition him to one nap?

Ds1 slept 11/12 hours at night at this age and had 2 naps til he was 18 months!

Mine have always done 12 hours ish over night but only nap for 30 mins in the day or so
Dd2 7 months did 12 hours last night a 40 and 10 min nap all day

I think it all depends on nap length. When my DD was on 2 naps she slept for 3 hours total and then 10 hours at night. Now she’s on one nap (dropped to 1 at 15 months) she naps for 1.5-2 hours (occasionally 2.5 hours) and then sleeps 11-12 hours at night. But it wasn’t that simple, we dealt with some early wakes during the transition to 1 nap which lasted a couple of a weeks.

My 5yo still sleeps for 11/12 hours at night! I was hoping I'd get another good sleeper Grin

My son has never, ever, slept more than 10 hours straight. Some kids just don't need it.
