Hi
So my ds used be an amazing sleeper to the point I couldn't tell anyone about it as felt bad, however the sleep gods have turned against me!
For Last probably 6 months could be longer I've lost track of time. He won't fall asleep unless I'm outsude room, comes out hundred times to check still there etc. Can take up to 45 mins. This I could possible deal with. However he will wake anytime between 10 and 3 and insist on sleeping in my bed. Scream cry tantrum until I give in. He is unconsolable.
So this did start with him being ill, we had to move his cot downstairs as room he is in is a oven in summer, this caused distress then eventually movin to a big bed as cot I was not taken down and remaking cot again!
So he slept in my bed for first time then, now he won't stop.
I've tried numerous times putting him back etc but after about 2 weeks of screaming, crying etc it I'm so exhausted I give in.its become his habit I no but also he is so destrssed if he gets put back. I work out thr house Late afternoon and not back till 9 or 10 on eve so don't get any down time. The next day I'm trying to do Admin in morning or sórt house but I just fall asleep
I've been sleeping upstairs in room next to him and dh is downstairs. So not slept on same bed for ages
Tonight after him waking at 940 wanting me and screaming till I came up I've said I need both of us to do it togther as had enough.
OK rant over, any advice on best way to tackle this. He has same bedtime routine he always has had of books, shower/bath bed,
Any help really appreciated

Is he totally over the illness @Copperbeaches? So no earache, sore throat etc abs has anything else changed, like starting school?

@bunnyruddington yes def over illness as 6 months ago. Nothing changed except thr move to big bed. But he is too big to go back to a cot! He loves school, he gets lots of interaction and time spent with him in the day so isn't missing us.
He just Says doesn't want to be alone to sleep. Tried to convince him more teddies but said wants a talking person 😅.
Going to try tonight but will be doing it on own so fingers crossed I can stay awake enough to keep putting him back!
