18 month old dropping to one nap

Little one was sleeping:
6am wake
9am nap 30mins
1.30pm nap 1/1.5hrs
6/6.30 bed

But we have had some nap refusals and second nap was becoming 30min disaster nap so guessed it was time to transition her.

Only problem is some days she only sleeps 45mins and she get so overtired that she wakes in the night and wakes for the day at 4.30/5.

Is this just a painful transition and I’ll have to put up with early wakes until she settles? Or is it possible she’s not ready for one nap?

Any tips to navigate this transition greatly received….I’m finding it the hardest one yet x

Bumpy transition. Just do your best to keep to one nap at past noon. It'll settle down. We've been in this bumpy transition for a while with my second. She's trying to drop to one nap way too young. 18months is definitely old enough for one nap I think.

Can you get to noon for the nap? Lunch at 11.30. Bed dot on 12?

Tried 12pm nap she woke after 40mins. It’s really getting me down.

Is she not tired enough to stay asleep or is she over tired?

Can you try one nap but late morning instead of going straight to afternoon? When my DD went down to one nap she use to sleep about 10.30 and then over the months it has slowly got later. She is 23 months now and goes to sleep about 12.30. I think she went down to one nap a day about 14/15 months.
