30 mins nap hell

How do I help my 12 weeker sleep for longer than 30 minutes?! She's a great sleeper at night - does about 10 hours. But the day leaves me with about three hours worth of naps - if I'm lucky. Worried she isn't getting enough sleep?!

It's so normal.
My six month old mostly does 30 mins just twice a day 🤦‍♀️ 😬 but is in a good mood until 4-5pm and then sleeps 6-6 solid so 13 hours sleep in 24 ISH.
I never managed to get my first to extend her naps so not holding out for this one to as well.
I understand it's annoying though but you are not alone

@jupitermars1345 and I are in the same club of short nappers. Some children are just super alert and designed that way. DD1 was 2 x 30 minute naps by 6 months, 1 x 30 minutes at 11 months then started dropping naps at 18 months. DD2 is almost 5 months and on 3 x 30 minute naps a day.

Makes days out easy as you’re not stuck to the house for hours each day, and the early bedtimes are brilliant! I’m a primary teacher and them both being in bed by 6.30 means I can work in the evenings without having to stay up till midnight.

However, with my first I was initially jealous of my friends with long nappers, so if you want to address the issue I’m sure someone will have some advice for you to try.

Ahh, OP I feel your pain. We got 40 mins, twice a day, it never changed. Good sleeper at night though, I think overall I'd take nights over days.

That sounds great to be honest! Solid nights sleep at that age is amazing. My first was a 40 minute napper but by 1 slept a good 1.5-2 hours every lunch and that lasted until she was 3.5 so hang in there! Enjoy the flexibility of short naps with the freshness of a good night sleep from your lovely baby!

That’s seems fine, 13 hrs of sleep a day and 10 of those overnight!
At 3 months ds still woke every 2 hrs overnight and napped 30 mins a few times a day. Even now at nearer 2 years he very rarely does 10hrs overnight
