Separation Anxiety

Haven’t really paid too much attention to the wonder weeks stages, but noticed that my LO (7 months) is currently going through the red patch - with the crying, clinginess and last night he was like a different child. He became hysterical if I tried to leave the room. He’d go straight back to sleep if I went back and shhhed and put my hand on his chest, but would be screaming again if I even moved to leave. wouldn’t settle at all for nearly 2 hours. Never had this before and he’s usually settled pretty quickly when being put down awake. Guessing this is the start of separation anxiety?

Ended up having him sleep in the bed with me as that’s all that would calm him, which is fine, but I’d rather it not become a regular thing and want to try to support him to sleep in his crib happily.

Are any of you experiencing this at the moment? Noticed the same for his morning nap too. Wondering if you have any suggestions of how to manage it?
