Hi All, New to this page so unsure if I have done things correctly. Just after a bit of advise.
My LB is 3, 4 in March and wakes up dot on 5am every day, I was wondering if there is any advise to at least to get him to 6am. I have added a list of things we already do now. TIA for any advice from a very tired and lethargic boy mama.
Complete black out (has night light if he requests it)
Pillow and quilt
White noise (not put on all the time just to go to sleep)
No noise at all at that time waking him up
Set bed time routine dinner 5- 5.45, calm own time, tidy up at 6. bath time, story and bed for 7

A couple of things that might work are moving his bedtime a bit later. I'd do it gradually by 10 minutes every 2 or 3 days till you've got to 7.30 or 8 pm.

I'd also add another good snack in during the day, preferably with protein. My DF's DD was waking abs the HV suggested not giving actual snacks but think of them more like small meals, like cheese on toast. Her DD started sleeping later straightaway.

Thank you for replying,

We have tried that he goes at 7.30 and sometimes it he can go until 5.15 but then getting him to 7.30 is struggle, falling asleep at book time, maybe I didn't stick it out long enough. Thanks again

That's a shame. Have you tried the snack thing as well?

From what I remember, this book has a section on early waking Smile

No I havent tried the snack. I may move his meal times round and try that. Thank you for suggesting it. I'll take all the advise at this point haha

My little boy was like this, I tried everything. It was just his body clock. Later bedtime just meant he was grumpy and tired as well as being up early! So I prioritised getting enough sleep into him. In the end he would stay in his bed listening to a cbeebies story on Alexa until the sun came up on his grow clock at 6am. I started off with the clock set at 5:30 and gradually pushed it back. He's 4.5 now and wakes at 6:10 like a clock. I now wish for 6:30 of course!

I think thst may be my next purchase. A grow clock. I'm sure he wil get use to the colours and knowing when to get up. Thank you for your advice xx
