Please share age and length of nap

My 14 month old is giving me 1 hour and 15 minutes, I was expecting 2-3 hours?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Varies day by day. 17 month old currently in the middle of a 2.5 hour nap but some days it's an hour or 90 mins...

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 28/12/2021 13:58

My DD had one 3 hour nap at that age.

smurfsss · 28/12/2021 13:59

2.5hrs if they've recently dropped their morning nap.

MoorGirl · 28/12/2021 13:59

20 month old does 2-2.5 hrs, has been doing so since 15 months. Long may it last!!

RollneckJumper · 28/12/2021 13:59

1 year old and usually naps twice a day (late morning, and late afternoon) for approx 60 mins each time (total 2 hours).

YessicaHaircut · 28/12/2021 14:00

Also varies! Can be anywhere between 1 and 3 hours, usually 90min or so. I’m grateful for what I can get! Grin DS is 18 months and went down to 1 nap from around 14 months I think.

TulipsGarden · 28/12/2021 14:01

When mine was 14 months he slept 2-3 hours after lunch. It was during lockdown and I was so, so grateful he slept well, because that was when I did a lot of my work.

However, my friend's child rarely slept longer than 45 mins. She did have some success with going in and sshhing/patting him back to sleep when he was on the verge of waking up, but you need to keep a close eye on the time.

MarmaladeCloud · 28/12/2021 14:03

I think they need 15 hours of sleep within 24 hours, so it's not just about the nap time.

WutheringShites86 · 28/12/2021 14:03

16 months, often 1 to 1hr 15 mins, sometimes 45 mins, very very rarely approaching 2 hours if she had a terrible night, today and yesterday ZERO Xmas Confused

Categorically not a sleeper

Vicky1989x · 28/12/2021 21:27

19 month old here, dropped to 1 nap around 15 months. Timings vary between 1.5 - 2.5 hours depending how bad her night was and how active she’s been.

Bigoldmachine · 28/12/2021 21:28

1.5-2.5 hours

Etherealhedgehog · 30/12/2021 05:10

Recently 2-2.5 hrs at home, less at nursery (15 mo) BUT she's a brutally early riser (4.30 not uncommon) so something is not working and she's definitely not getting enough sleep Sad

HotMummaSummer · 02/01/2022 21:51

17month old had recently transitioned to 1 nap, she has a little over 2 hours - she usually naps in the pushchair with white noise.
At nursery she has 1 afternoon nap which is between 1 and 1.5 hrs. Although she is pretty clingy/grumpy in the evenings after a shorter nap!

Tee20x · 03/01/2022 23:53

Depends. Normally 1.5-3 hours but depends on a lot of things like how the nights gone, if she's at nursery, if I'm holding her. Yes...holding her 🥲

mobear · 03/01/2022 23:57

One nap a day, normally anywhere from 1-3 hours.

Carbis · 04/01/2022 00:04

Mine would sleep for 1 hour 15 mins every single day until about 16 months or so when he started sleeping for 2 - 2.5 hours regularly. I didn’t realise 1 hour 15 mins was common, it always seemed like a strange amount of time.

IndigoToo · 04/01/2022 00:27

If I was lucky, my DC would sleep for 20 minutes in the morning, and 20 minutes in the afternoon between 4 months and 12 months. Since then, no day time sleeping/napping, except when really ill. It was really hard!
