Hi everyone, I’m an inch away from a mental breakdown, wondering if anyone could give some advice

So my almost 14 months old does not slee though the night, which would be okay if she woke up just for food, but no, she wakes up SCREAMING about an hour / two hours after I put her down and does not go back to sleep for another 3-4-5 hours :/ most days I don’t get to go to bed way past 2/3 am and she is back up around 7/8 am

I just don’t get it why, it’s been like that for weeks and I feel like I’m about to loose my sanity

She eats well during the day and has milk before bed, I’ve tried to feed her more, no change, and on top of it all she became super clingy, she demands all my attention all the time and if I leave her for a minute in her playpen simply to go to the loo, she screams like there is no tomorrow :(

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What could I possibly do to make her sleep
Better ?

Many thanks x

@Nelliesmama has she recently moved to cows milk? Sounds like she may be in pain. Potential intolerance ?

What was her routine like before? Can she self settle? There is a 12 month sleep regression

Just come on to ask for help with my one year old getting millions of teeth at once. He's taking a long time to settle at night. Maybe about an hour at times. Obviously not as bad as you're experiencing but is there any chance your lo could have molars/canines on the way?

Hi @Nelliesmama
I really hope you're OK!!
I'm going through something similar with my 2 year old. It's honestly an absolute nightmare.
I feel at my wits end too, just an absolute emotional wreck. It's taking over our life It's just awful.
I've tried everything and my little one of finally being referred to a paediatrician at the end of this month. It's been going on for one whole year now. Awake 4 hours every night. Screaming.
I'll let you know if the paediatrician helps in any way xx

Have allergies been ruled out by excluding allergens one at a time for at least 6 weeks ? Ime this is probably one of the biggest reasons for troubled sleep
TinyDancer275 · 26/12/2021 01:50

Hi @stuckinarut21 oh gosh really.
Well this all started one year ago when she started on cows milk, ended up being sick and with a terrible rash on her cheeks, which would disappear when she was sick. I kept food diary and basically cut out dairy. She only has oat milk now in her bottles but she has dairy again in food stuff.
Fast forward one whole year and the dietician finally rang me after she was referred and she's got an appointment next month.
Do you think this could cause night terrors? Xx I think she may hand those too xx

TinyDancer275 · 26/12/2021 01:51

*Have, sorry.
I didn't realise that could have an affect on sleep. She actually slept through from 5 months to a year, before she went onto cows milk. Then just stopped when got sick xx
