Hi all,

DS2 is 9 months old and still waking 4/5 times a night, twice of which he has a feed. He's on 3 solid meals a day, 7oz bottles at wake, mid morning, mid afternoon and bedtime. He has a consistent bedtime routine of Bath, bottle, bed and has two naps a day lasting 1.5hrs. Seems that he is waking looking for comfort rather than calories but stupid me has fallen for keeping things easy and just feeding to sleep.

DS1 slept through 9-5 from 5 months so can't seem to work out why this is so much harder. I know all babies are different, with different needs, but desperate for some sleep now as waking every 2 hours is killing me and DH.

Do I sleep train? Night wean? Up the portion sizes in the day? Very desperate as lack of sleep and consistency is taking a toll on my MH xxx

Personally I would night wean.

The waking every 2 hours is probably due to needing a feed or you to get back to sleep and go into the next sleep cycle. Maybe have a look at options to move away from needing you or feed to sleep. I'm guessing it's because your lo hasn't learnt to self soothe? Does lo have a dummy to help?

I would offer 8oz every feed in day. Also upping food content. As I'm guessing lo is having full feeds in night?

I did night weaning by offering water. I just went cold turkey. Some people like to reduce feeds, or water down. But I'm a let's do it all straight away kind of person 🤷🏼‍♀️
