2 years old sleep regression

Hi all,

My kid turned 2 just recently and he has been a terrible sleeper ever since. Prior to that he was falling asleep on his own and sleeping through the night, but that changed all of a sudden. Also, he shared he is experiencing some fears of the dark and of wolves (we were reading the red riding hood).

Currently he becomes hysterical at bedtime and naptime. Would like to be with someone in his room so he can fall asleep and then he wakes up multiple times at night until someone just moves to his room.

I have decided I don’t want to be doing that anymore and be moving to his room all the time to sleep on the couch and I don’t want him to be dependent on me being in the room and I have been trying but he is just hysterical about it. We have put on a night light in his room and have started reading stories but the moment I leave he just becomes hysterical.

Please I will appreciate you support and your tips as well as personal experience in this so called 2 years sleep regression.
