Sorry posted too soon due to wrangling baby

My DD is second baby and will only cat nap for 30 mins no matter what (even in sling/pram)

She seems relatively happy by looks tired. She only sleeps about 7hrs at night so at most gets 9-10ths sleep in total during the 24hrs in total.

How do I get her to sleep more? I currently bounce or feed her to sleep (bounce for naps or feed at night).

Also when DS is at home during the day he is constantly waking her. White noise machine seems to do nothing to block out his dulcet tones.

Does anyone have any tips? The short naps and hourly wakings are driving me nuts.

I am going to sleep train - should I wait until she’s in her own room or try and get her to self settle now while I sleep next to her?

Thank you!

Sorry to say only time has helped for us with the short naps! My DD was the same and still is sometimes at 10 months I’m afraid, cot naps still tend to only be half an hour, an hour max. But at some point - maybe 6 months? - she grew out of waking after half an hour in the pram / car at least and I could get longer naps out of her that way.

We also sleep trained which improved nights a lot but I didn’t have it in me to try to extend naps using the same method so I just made the most of it and got out with the pram, an audiobook and tried to enjoy the exercise.

Hope things improve for you soon, it’s so hard when you don’t get a break x

Oh and we waited til ours was in her own room. Gave her two weeks to see if it would magically change things on its own with us not disturbing her (people said it would, it didn’t for us), then did a gradual retreat type programme

Thank you! I’m hoping she grows out of it soon 🤞 she had a grand total of 1hr sleep during the day yesterday and was up in the middle of the night for 3 hrs🤪 she was sleeping so well until the bloody 4 month regression hit! My DS was having 3hr naps at around 6 months and only waking once a night so I’m hoping she will follow in his footsteps very soon!!!
