For the past week or so my DD just will not go to bed at night until a ridiculous hour & her daytime naps are starting to become out of whack too. She is currently cutting a new tooth which I am wondering may be the explanation or could it be something else?

She is 11.5 months old and on 2 naps a day. We run a later than usual timetable and typically before this week she would be on a 9-9 schedule. Nap at 11.30/12 for 1.5 hours and then another nap at 4/4.30. By normal standards that's a late nap but up until now it's worked for us and hasn't really impacted her nighttime sleep.

Like I said, this week has been SHIT. Take today as an example - woke up 9.20, tried to put her down for first nap at 11.45 - refused it. Kept trying on and off for a while but ended up finally giving up after about an hour. She slept for 30 mins at 3.40 and that has been all today. Because of that I've shifted bedtime earlier - or tried to so attempted to put her down at 8pm - she is only starting to go off to sleep now - an hour and 40 mins later. Today has been worse than usual but has followed a pattern of difficult night times for the whole week and it's often between 1-2 hours after I start trying to put her down that she actually goes to sleep.

Like I said she is cutting a tooth, could this be responsible for the spectacular shit show?

Could it be that she is trying to drop down to one nap so is pushing the first nap later and later and need to scrap the second nap to have a longer wake window before bed?

I'm getting so frustrated with it all and don't know what to do! I've started so many threads on her sleeping habits and nothing seems to be improving.

We co-sleep, she has a cot but just won't sleep in it. I would like to get her to but she is due to start nursery in 2 weeks and with that and the teething it's my understanding that it would be counterproductive to try and transition her into the cot now?

If I'm misguided I'd be happy to be corrected. But ughhhhh why don't they just sleep :(
