Crib climbing

Hi

My nearly 9 month old has learnt to pull himself up and now his favourite thing to do at bedtime/nap time is pull himself up on the crib and cry (I think because he hasn’t mastered sitting down again)

Anyone have any tips?
He can’t pull himself out so it’s not that I’m worried he’ll climb out - it’s more what to do rather than go in 100 times and put him back down until he falls asleep!

Thanks!

Teach him to go from standing to sitting to lying down.

Then when he's stood in the crib, avoid physically lying him back down. Instead, tap the mattress and get him to do it. Praise/smile when he does.

So he’s learning to put himself down but he constantly just climbs straight back up again and will cry if I leave him - I think I’ve made a bit of a rod for my back because I get to the point where I just rock him to sleep (this is for daytime naps only) bedtime sleep he’ll go down without too much fuss.

What do I do about the day time naps?
