Cutting 1.5 yo nap down?

DC has just turned 17 months. Goes to nursery 2 days/week

If they nap for 2h, they’ll go down easily at 7:45pm and sleep 11h, but it’ll be broken - not quite a party, but they’ll need resettling during the night at some point almost without fail. We’ll then end up waking them at 7 - probably because they’ve been disturbed during the night.

If they nap for 1h20 (which seems to be the going time at nursery and some naps at home), they’ll go down easily at 7:45pm and sleep 11h straight through, waking naturally between 6:30 and 7.

1h20 feels like a short nap, but after 3 weeks of tracking, their night sleep is definitely better on the short nap days. Should I start cutting the nap consistently at home? They just seem quite young for that - seems to be a thing people do at 2+

I'd cut the nap yes
1 hour 20 is really good imo.
My daughter was dropping hers completely at this age / only having 30 mins at a time

Another vote for cut the nap. Eldest started dropping hers completely at 18 months, and prior to that would only have half an hour.

Yes there are lots of babies out there who are by the book and still need a 2hr nap until they’re 3, but equally there are lots who don’t.

Seems reasonable to me
Mine is on 1h30 at 18 months
