Sleep training for naps? 5 months old

Does anyone have any advice or experience on how to get my almost 5 month old down for a nap in his crib?
He always naps in my arms or in his bouncy chair which is fine but now he’s sleeping through the night I feel like I need to sort out his daytime naps which are also quite short as well.. he sleeps well in his next 2 me crib at night but I put him down fully asleep after holding him for 1.5 hours after his bottle.. when I try and put him down in the day he wakes up and cries and won’t be consoled until I hold him and then he falls asleep. I’m very conscious of wake windows and use the huckleberry app to keep track of when he should be napping.. just wish I could put him down for those naps!

I just feel a bit mentally drained and even an hour to myself in the day would be amazing as I’m starting to feel like a robot and my house is a mess! I think I need some sort of structured programme to follow as I give in too easily then won’t try again for ages to save the stress of it all…. any advice? 😩

The best way to extend daytime naps is bouncing in the bouncy chair - so why not use that more consistently in the daytime?

The best way to solve baby waking when transferring them is to not have to transfer them. Sounds simple, I know, but I used to feed and cuddle my baby before daytime naps and then put them in the next to me crib and lie in the bed next to them. We would be face to face (she loved to sleep on her side) and I would heartbeat pat her bottom and hold her hand whilst she fell asleep.

So take that time for yourself lie down for 10/15 minutes until it's safe to creep away or just stay there and have a nap yourself.
