Help, baby won't sleep on his own

Please can someone help… my Lo is nearly 5 months and he’s up every 45 minutes to an hour all night… can take between 1-3 hours to get him back to sleep. Tried PUPD and Pat and shh but he just roars and gets more and more hysterical and I just can’t. Similarly though I don’t think I can carry on as is as I’m living on 3 hours sleep a night and have literally no time to myself. Just on the edge of sanity and so exhausted… any advice is so welcomeSad

What are you doing during the 1-3h it takes to get baby to sleep?

Lousab · 20/11/2021 17:54

Basically breastfeeding until he falls asleep, then hold him against me for about 10-20 minutes before I try to put him in the cot. This sometimes fails and then I repeat. Sometimes he just wakes up after 15 minutes

This is how we ended up (safely) cosleeping.

No advice other than look up the safe sleep 7 if you try it. It was the only way my baby would sleep from 4mo.

@Lousab in exactly the same boat as you and doing the same thing at the moment (BFing back to sleep at every wakeup then putting back in the crib after 10 mins).

I know I need to break the feed to sleep association but if I try anything else she gets hysterically upset and I cant bear it Sad

This time last week she would sleep 8 hours straight overnight, I'm gutted!
