Toddler going to bed very late

I’m struggling to get my toddler to sleep at a reasonable time like he used to. He wakes up around 7:30-8 am. He has a nap around 12 till 2-2:30ish ( I end up waking him up) and then he doesn’t settle to bed until 10:30-11:30 and even then it’s a battle . I have resulted to wearing him in a sling on my back because it’s the only way to get him to sleep. I need help. This has only been a recent thing before he would go bed by 8:30.
Do I shorten his naps or completely get rid of it ? Or does someone have any other tips

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

They are all different of course, but 2.5hrs seems a long daytime sleep to me, especially as he isn't even a particularly early riser.

I would have thought it was worth trying a shorter daytime sleep at the very least.
I mean all babies and toddlers are individuals, there is no guarantee it will work but is an easy thing to try.

I just stuck to that long nap because when he transitioned from 2 to 1 nap he went from having 2 one hour naps to 1 two hour nap . So it worked then. But maybe I’ll shorten it and see if that’s works thanks

How old is he? I have a 2.5 year old and if he sleeps past 1.30pm he doesn’t go to sleep until about 9ish - albeit he just lies in his cot faffing about. Generally 12-1 is enough for him now and he’s asleep by 7.30ish.

I agree, too much sleep in the day. Takes a while for changes to bed in though, a couple weeks, so it might be a bit Crap for a while but getting evenings back is so nice

How old exactly? Going through similar issues now at 26 months. Bedtime is a battle! But she does go to sleep around 9:30. However she wakes up around 3am looking for some excuse to get some mummy time. Back to bed around 3:45am and sleeps till 7am. I'm finding it really hard to survive on interrupted nights with a pressured job ... oh and yes naps are definitely too long. Around 2h for us right now. I try to cap them at 1.5h...
