3 month old wont fall asleep in crib/basket?

Please help - my 3 month old baby will only go down for naps if she is rocked or fed to sleep and then put down. I keep being told that this is poor sleep hygiene and that I need to put her down when she is sleepy but awake, but I literally cannot. She just screams and screams no matter how long I shhh and pat her for.

Tonight I was determined to try her last nap before bedtime in her moses basket from the beginning. I darkened the room, warmed the basket with a hot water bottle, put white noise on and laid her down after about an hour and a half of wake time. She was fed, dry and perfectly happy before being put down. However she just screamed and screamed and I felt so terrible that I gave up, scooped her up for a cuddle and my husband ended up rocking her to sleep (she went off almost instantly). I feel so bad that she got so upset, does it count as letting her cry it out if I was there with her? I swore I'd never do that Sad

Does anybody have any tips for how I can encourage her to fall asleep in her crib or do I just need to suck it up and do what works for the moment?

Thanks

You have it in your last comment! My son is 10 months old and has fallen asleep in his cot TWICE. It won't be forever, do whatever works for you all ☺️

Forgot to say we don't swaddle her anymore as she has rolled over a couple of times and also at night she comfort sucks her fingers which puts her back to sleep if she wakes.

I say at 3 months old rock lo to sleep, what ever is easiest to maximise your rest 🤷🏼‍♀️ sort it out later if it becomes an issue.
