Early riser

Hi,

I don’t think I’m here for advice, just reassurance…?

My 2.5 year old has always been an early riser, my partner gets up early for work and is loud…! He coughs and sneezes (it’s like a one man band!) and we only live in a small house! So it’s inevitable that the the children hear him, even with doors closed, and he won’t just get up and go, he works outdoors all day and needs coffee etc! So it’s now habit for my 2 year old to get up even when it’s quiet!

I’ve tried everything, white noise, later bedtimes, you name it, I’ve done it! I’ve sleep trained him now so he goes to bed at 7pm, wakes 5/5:30! Naps at 10am for 1/1.5 hours. He’s now in preschool, so he’s even more tired but still no more sleep.

I wouldn’t mind but he is keeps pinching and pulling my older girls hair, I don’t know of this is his age or whether it all boils down to tiredness!

The sleep training has caused massive anxiety for me! Im not enjoying being a toddler mum again and im due another baby in December..! I’m scared coz of the whole sleep issues! It’s also caused my partner and I to split up a couple of times, and cause massive arguments.

I just don’t know whether to surrender and accept he’s now an early riser for my own sanity, seeing as no one else cares about my sanity.

Hi, my son from about 1 year old he consistently would get up at 6am and refuse to sleep any longer...I found it hard going and hard to accept he was an early riser ... He is nearly 8 years old now and he is still waking at 6am...once he was about 3/3.5 years old I was able to teach him to play quietly in the landing or his room while I lightly slept for an extra 30mins...it is tough on the older siblings if they are not early risers ...I think the pulling hair and pinching is probably just his age
