What time would you suggest?

Please help me out, what time would you suggest I put my 25month old ds to bed?
Last night he was up multiple times right through to the morning. He then was up for the day at 7:30am and has refused his nap. I'm afraid to put him to bed early incase he's up really early in the morning AND I'm afraid he'll know it's too early for bed and mess about until his usual sleep time.
What time would you put him down at?

Should have mentioned his normal bedtime is 7:30pm and he climbs out of the cot continuously and normally falls asleep by 8pm

It's a very rare 2yo who can tell the time. He goes to bed when you know he's ready, he won't know if that's early or late.

At 2yo I would be aiming for

8.30pm asleep
7.30am awake
12pm-3pm nap

You might also get variations like
7.30pm - 7.30am 12-2pm nap
8.30pm - 8.30am 1-3pm nap

We have a 26 month old and we're just finished a loooong sleep regression that lasted ar

.. around 3-4 months. DD has gone back to sleeping through 8.30pm to 6.30am, with a 2h nap.

However at this age going to bed - nap or bedtime - has become very difficult. She will come out at least 3 times pretexting some excuse... needs cream on her arm that's hurting ... more water to drink... where's purple bunny ... blah blah blah. We ditched the cot a month ago because she was climbing out through the night. Now she is in a toddler bed and it's been fine.. (I know you find it's a bit early according to you @FATEdestiny Smile).

Anyway what I would say that they're probably going through another big leap at this age ..lots of talking for us... more independence, more opinions... and just finding sleep difficult. You have to be gentle but firm. We take her back to her bed each time, rub her ears, shush it's sleepy time now, go to sleep, and repeat when she comes out. Often we leave the door open, close it when she falls asleep. Sometimes you just have to hold them in place for a few seconds when they try to come out.

Good luck

Oh and i would definitely put him to bed earlier if they haven't had a nap! They need to catch up on sleep. Our DD wakes up around 6 or 6.30 regardless of when she goes to bed... or at least there's more factors involved than just thinking that if you put them to bed later, they wake up later. It's never really worked for us that way ...

My 28 month old goes to bed 9-6.30/7 and had a 2 hour nap 2-4. I've given up on an early bed and enjoy my free 2 hours in the afternoon.
