7mo short naps effecting nighttime sleep

I have a 7mo - he was a really good sleeper - did long naps and slept 12 hours at night
For a couple of weeks his naps have become really short - half an hour each nap
I’ve tried putting him down earlier/later etc and nothing seems to work - it’s now effecting his night time sleep as he’s started doing early wakes and I think it’s due to him not getting enough day time sleep - I’ve tried everything but nothing seems to help - any tips???

Calories is a frequent culprit around this age. Remember to maintain (it even increase) milk in take, while also introducing solids.

Allergies from solid food could also be an issue around early weaning.

7 months is a good time for a by-the-clock routine. The usual one is

7am wake baby if not already awake
9am nap - wake at 11am if not awake
2pm nap - wake at 4pm if not awake
8pm bedtime

Is baby put onto the cot fully awake, to settle on there independantly? If not, this needs working on.

Yeh I had a feeling it might be hunger, I’ve been feeding him when he wakes so the gap might be too long

Yeh all naps and nighttime sleep he’s put down awake and goes to sleep independently

I’ll have a go at those nap times and see if it works - it’s just if he wakes after half an hour at 9:30 then when do you put them down for a nap - do you keep them up until 2?

Thanks!

If you get a short nap then reduce the next awake time and probably add a extra third teatime nap.
