Next to me slight musty smell

Hi, finally going to try to transition baby from the Moses basket to next to me. Sadly I've brought it up from our cellar and I can smell a faint musty smell. Wanted to use it tonight. Is it safe???? I'm maybe being dramatic.

There's no way I would put a baby in something that was musty, sorry.

Just wipe it down and air it outside.

Thanks. I've discovered that I can wash the fabric that goes round the crib in the machine. That's where musty smell coming from, not the mattress itself. Sure it will be fine once it's out the machine and dried

Wash all the fabrics and give it all a good air out.

I'd strip the mattress right down and give it a good look over and a sniff, just in case you have any rodents in the basement. If in any doubt, just get a new mattress for it if you can. But the crib itself will be fine once all fabrics been washed.

As everyone said good clean/wash chuck it in garden for the day 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks I've now ordered a new mattress as once took cover off that really stunk
