Capping naps-toddler

My two year old is starting to take 45-60 minutes to fall asleep at bedtime. He has been napping between an hour/hour & 15- I almost always have to wake him from his nap. Given how long bedtime is taking I assume his nap is too long again? He’s definitely not ready to drop the nap as he always falls asleep within minutes. Though equally he isn’t usually ready to go to sleep any earlier. Basically I feel guilty to reduce his nap because he sleeps so well… and I love the down time in the day! Before I start capping even more it is there anything else I should consider that’s going on?

Hi there,
My 2 year old is in a similar boat - I change her nap time daily. If she has woken pee 6.30am then I give her 1 hour and bed at 7. If she wakes later, I try no nap and bed at 7 (but winding down earlier to avoid meltdowns).
Maybe try the flexibility? Or when nap time approaches Find a fun activity to take place??

Bring over tired will usually result in it taking longer to fall asleep.

It could be that your nap needs to be earlier and longer.
