9 month old going into own room

Our little girl is 9 months old and still in our room. Due to a family bereavement and relatives staying with us since she was 4 weeks old we haven't had the opportunity to move her. The room is now free and ready for her.

She has been a great sleeper from about 4 months and goes through from 7pm to 6.30am ish most nights. I have gone back to work this week so she is with a childminder 3 days a week and is settling well. We feel she needs her own room as we disturb her quite a bit when moving around the room and taking ourselves to bed and getting up for work etc. Also recently when she does wake early she is very difficult to re settle and screams and I think this is because she sees us because when she naps in the day in her cot she will wake and happily chat away to herself until I go and get her.

What tips would you offer to make transition as smooth as possible? we plan to move her cot with her so she will have familiarity with her bed.

No advice, but we are doing the exact same thing this week, starting tonight! Already one very weepy wake up ☹️

@NotMaryWhitehouse how did your night go?

Ok. He wakes up a bit more than when he was in with us but I've resigned myself to spending the second part of the night in his room with him. We had set up a bed in there which I'm very glad about now!

What about you?

If you've already moved her now I hope it went well! If not, try to keep as much the same as possible. Same cot, bedding, routine etc. My DS slept better straight away when he moved into his own room, so it doesn't always have a negative impact.
