Baby refusing to sleep in cot

He sleeps fine in his cot for naps and goes to bed without much drama, but he almost always wakes between midnight and 2 and won’t go back in his cot. He will fall asleep on me but then as soon as you get him back down he wakes and starts crying.

This isn’t a new problem but at ten months it’s harder just to hold him until he’s in a deep enough sleep to be transferred back. Do I just have to wait until he’s sleeping through?

No suggestions i'm afraid but following this with interest as my 7 MO is exactly the same (she won't even nap in the cot though!). I've been bringing her in bed with me for the last week (following safe co-sleeping guidelines, of course) but I'm not sure it's much better as I sleep really badly and wake up with terrible aching back and knees from curling around her. When we first put her in the cot around 4 months she loved it and mostly slept through, but it seems we've just been on one big regression since then! You're not alone!

Does baby go into the cot awake at bedtime, and fall asleep in there?
