Hi,

Just looking for some advice. Little ones bedroom is currently at 22.3 degrees and will become cooler during the night. I just want to make sure he is not too cold at night as he wakes a lot during the night. How should i dress him? At the moment he is in a long sleeve vest with pyjamas and nothing on top. Thanks

Does he have a blanket he can pull over himself if he feels cold? Mine is 2.5 years old and his room (according to the monitor) is 22 degrees and he had pyjama top and bottoms and a duvet. He seems ok! He used to have a sleeping bag with legs in the winter which he absolutely loved.

Hi Pendore,

Thanks for replying.

He is 15 months and tends to kick off anything on top of him but sometimes i worry he is cold. I might look into a sleeping bag for him. His room is normally around 22-23 degrees. Do you have any recommendations for sleeping bags? At the moment he has a one tog duvet which i cover him with but then he kicks off. Its so hard getting the right temperature and making sure he is not cold or hot.

Mine had a sleeping bag at that age, his room is usually around 20-22. I think I'd use a 1 tog with a long sleeve vest at the moment, moving to a 2.5 tog as it gets chillier and then trousers as well when it's really cold. The sleeping bags have suggestions for how to dress your child in them.

22 degrees is surely too warm for a bedroom , are you in the U.K.?

my 21m LOs room is usually 17-19 degrees and he wears a vest and a sleepsuit but we bedshare so he's a bit warmer from that. Will start putting him in a 1tog snuggle sac soon.

22 Celcius I would dress in nothing but a vest and nappy. 22 Fahrenheit I would be putting the heating on.

Ours is the warmest room in the house (used to be my office, it was lovely!). The airing cupboard keeps it warm and that's with the window open.

In deepest winter it sometimes goes as low as 17 degrees, but that's rare.

22C is very warm. Get a sleeping bag for him. Grobag suggest a short sleeved bodysuit plus a 1 tog grobag. Children are at much more risk of overheating than getting too cold in bed.

Thank you so much everyone! You have all been so helpful. I am a first time mum and just trying to make sure little one is as comfortable as possible. I will look at grobag now. His bedroom is near the airing cupboard so it is always around 22 degrees in there.
