hi everyone.

my little boy has always been a good sleeper but he’s just turned 3 months old and will happily stay awake all day if i let him, the only time he cries is when i try and get him to nap. before I would breast feed him to sleep but now that doesn’t work. I’ve tried everything he just seems like he’s not tired.

he will take a morning and afternoon nap if i persist but will not sleep between 5:00 and bedtime at 9:30, but i’ve tried leaving him to stay awake but then he’s screaming the place down at bedtime!

I went through a horrific stage for sleep with my son at 3.5mo. I decided not to stress about it (after lots of stressing about it) and just took him for long walks in the pram, wore him in the carrier or stretchy wrap (he preferred structured carrier at that age), breastfed on demand and tbh did a lot of just sitting and holding him at bedtime (which was whenever I went to bed around 11pm). I just let him sleep as and when he did, and unbelievably when he turned 4mo he started sleeping through the night and taking naps easily again (and all I did was not try to force it).

DS is very high sleep needs (at 19mo now he will sleep 13hrs at night and 3hrs in the day, which is A LOT), but for some reason at 3m he just didn't seem to sleep at all.
