Evening everyone,

I have read old forums but wonder if someone can point me in right direction please 😁

LO is just over 7 months old by couple days. Has a nap in morning about 1.5 hours (approx 2 hours after wake up but can be 3 hours, depending on how tired lo is. Starting 830/9). So ends latest 1030.

2.5/3 hours later has Lunch time nap varies from 1.5 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes. This nap usually ends 230/3. I could potentially extend this nap.

Then is going down for a nap about 5/530 for cat nap (limit to 30mins) Bedtime 8pm to 9pm.

Some days she can end up with almost 4 hours of naps 🤦🏼‍♀️

Should I be moving into 2/3/4 routine now?

Any support would be appreciated 🥰

If its working don't change it. My 2.5 and 4 year old are obviously down to one nap but that can still be 3 hours some days (a year ago it frequently was).

Different if not sleeping well at night.

Agree with pp, why do you need to? If there's no reason then don't touch it! I'm biased though, by 8mo my second was down to one 30 minute nap a day so I'd not touch a thing of we had that schedule! Jokes aside though, if night sleep is am issue I'd look to reduce then drop the final nap first.

Mmm when she goes bed, she sleeps through till 530/6/7 it varies 😂
Sometimes wakes for a feed, but not always. Wow 30mins a day 😳😳

I have a 7.5 month old and we mostly do the 234 but if the 2nd nap is short I will allow a cat nap but never after 4pm. If the result is he’s tired he goes to bed at about 6.30 rather than 7. Since we cut down the naps he’s consistently sleeping 12 hours overnight. I’m a big believer in doing what works for you though!

I must admit I do miss my evenings as she's now up till 8pm/9pm and going through the grizzly stage - I think it's because she is becoming frustrated with not being able to crawl and move more x

If you don’t want the 8/9pm bedtimes (which your last post suggests), then just drop the last nap and shift bedtime forward to 7. Simple. But to be honest OP, I’m not sure what the problem is? It sounds like you and your LO is living the dream sleep wise (and I speak as a mum to a 7-month old who is very much not doing as well!)

Fancyties · 03/10/2021 21:01

The last nap is getting later and later and harder and harder to get her to sleep. The last nap used to be 4, then 430, then 5, and I can see it becoming later then that. Couple times it's been 530pm.

It isn't a problem, I will do what is best for my LO. I think most mums will say they miss their evenings 😂 I was asking if this was a good point to go for 2.3.4 routine.

I would just keep her up and put her to bed at 6.30 if that was me.
5pm onwards is not when I'd be attempting a nap

jemimafuddleduck · 03/10/2021 21:19

What @jupitermars1345 said. Drop the last nap, begin bath time at 6pm, bottle / feed at 6:30, bed by 7.

Vicky1989x · 03/10/2021 21:35

I agree - I’d drop the last nap. Extend the lunch time nap if you can then start bedtime routine at 6 and bed by 7.

Thank you 🤗

Going through similar here, we are struggling to get little girl to have last nap. If she sleeps later than 1.30 I tend to just put her to bed at 6 with only 2 naps. But today for example she only slept til 12.30 so she's back down now for a cat nap to see her through and I expect she'll go to bed around 7

Fancyties · 05/10/2021 16:54

Glad I'm not only one. I would rather her wait till 7pm for bed of dp won't see her.

I haven't had chance last few days to do, she's been waking early so everything been early as dp been stating work early so always wakes her and also deciding 45mins in morning is enough sleep instead of her normal 1.5hours 😂

she's woke at 130pm today (we had carpet fitters ) so like you she's went back down at 4pm for a cat nap and bed will be 7pm. Funnily she's in such a better mood going to bed at 7pm ish rather then going to bed at 8pm
