When clocks go back..

My just 3yo does 7-530. It isn’t ideal but it’s the best we can get after 3 years of trying everything… trust me! My only worry is that when the clocks go back it will be 430! How do we deal with this? It isn’t until 31st but should we start changing something now? Later bed time? Any advice appreciated!

I never tried that but it might be worth it but I think you would need to change meal times as well.

You could try half an hour and see?

Tbh my life is always buggered for a week after the clocks change regardless of what I do to prepare.

I always did the transition very slowly, for a week at least before have tea 10 minutes later or so and bath, bed 10 minutes later.

I would do the change all in one go, as the clocks change. It makes for a difficult 24-48h, but then it's done.

So on the morning after clocks change, fully move the whole days routine to the correct (changed) time. So all meals and bedtime an hour later.

By the Monday it's usually shifted.

@fatedestiny what about for the younger ones (7 month old)?

FATEdestiny · 03/10/2021 10:17

Same - I've always advocated jumping in with both feet and just doing it. Accept that the weekend (and possibly Monday) will be hard work, so extra help for naps those days and busy-busy time to keep baby awake when body clock is telling them to sleep. It's only a couple of days, not long term.

It works if you change it by 5 minutes a night, and yes change mealtimes as well.

Thanks @fatedestiny 😌😌 not sure what we would all do if you weren't around 😂
