4 month old crying in sleep

Hi

Hoping for some advice please!

For the last few nights my 4 month old has been crying very briefly (a minute or so) every hour or so throughout the night. Every time I go to him he is asleep. Does anyone know why he is doing this and how to make it stop? It’s such a sad little cry its breaking my heart!

Thanks

Babies do that sometimes. Toddlers too. Maybe he cries because he wakes up then falls back to sleep straight away. My two sons both did that (and still do sometimes actually).

DD does this (still does it sometimes at 10 months) and I've always assumed she's dreaming.

My lo does that now and again in night. Its like she shouts for me I look at monitor and she's asleep, I wait 10 mins but still fast asleep. Maybe it's between sleep cycles?

I think it’s dreaming. I remember at that age my daughter seemed to be dreaming about the milk running out because she would make the exact face and headshake she made when the breast was empty, then cry, but not wake up.
