18 month old crying while asleep with eyes open?

Had a really unusual experience with DD last night. She normally wakes during the night and sits up or stands and cries for me. Last night she cried but was lying on her belly in her cot. I went in to see her and she didn’t get up which is very unlike her. I could see that her eyes were open but it was almost like she couldn’t move. I picked her up and she seemed completely fine. The same thing happened again this morning when it was time to get up - crying but lying on her belly with eyes open and not moving. Again she was perfectly fine when I got her up and started running about the house.

Does this sound like some kind of sleep paralysis? Has anyone else experienced something like this with their LOs?

I would just assume she was exhausted and didn't want to move.
