How to help a sleep refuser

Baby is 4 months. Been going through the regression for about 3 weeks. Previously fell asleep on her own and had 3 2/3 hour naps per day. Now I have to put dummy in about 10 times and rock her cot to get her to sleep. This works until she wakes 45 minutes later after one sleep cycle and nothing gets her back to sleep. She is having about 4 naps like this a day. Is constantly grumpy and I'm finding it difficult to give any attention to my toddler as I'm constantly trying to get her to sleep which takes ages. She is miserable. She isn't overly fussed by the dummy, it doesn't get her to sleep but does comfort her so we are preserving. Any advice? DC1 was easy with sleep.

Shamelessly bumping. Has refused practically all naps today. Screamed continuously for 10 minutes before each one, nothing I am doing is working to stop her crying and get her to sleep.

No advice just solidarity. My 5 month old isn’t doing well with napping either. She constantly twitches awake so she doesn’t get the sleep she needs and then she’s overtired, we are just in a big old daily cycle of overtiredness. I have school run weekdays so baby has no choice but to tag along and I think that start to the day when she doesn’t get to nap at a time that’s best for her is the problem. You’d think it would improve on the weekend but apparently not Hmm

@puffasocks it is awful isn't it? I'd cope alright if it was just naps, but now she's started waking all through the night too. She previously slept 12 hours! Last night was up about 15 times. I hope your little one comes through it soon!!

I suspect your awake windows between naps is too long. It wants to be about double nap length, so 45 min naps mean around 90 min awake time until the next nap. That will give you more than 4 naps a day.
