Transition from swaddling help

Hello, my little boy is 10 weeks old. He sleeps like a dream when he is swaddled (arms down). Up to 6 hours, wakes for a feed and then another 2/3 hours.

However, is he showing signs on rolling and I feel the need to transition him out of his swaddle into his sleeping bag.

I tried this last week for a few nights and averaged on 3 hours sleep each night. He still has his startle reflex, as soon as he goes down in his next to me - he starts kicking and flapping his arms around and he wakes up straight away. The only thing that helps him settle is swaddling. I got him to sleep 16 times one night, and every single time I put him in his bed, his arms and legs were all over the place - of course waking him up. Not only lack of sleep but also not good for my back. He's a big heavy baby !!

Has anyone been in the same boat ? Any suggestions or help ?

Thanks in advance x

My DD liked a love to dream swaddleup sleeping bag about that age to help with the transition. It holds them tight but it's not arms down swaddle of a newborn. They can move their arms a little. We used it for about 6 weeks I think.

They're expensive but we bought them second hand on eBay and they were fine. Worth a try?
