Sleeping Bag or Duvet

Just looking for a bit of advice on what to put DS to sleep in now it’s getting chilly again.
So he will be 2 in December and his current 2.5 tog sleeping bad is getting a bit short for him.
He’s still in his cot so i’m not sure whether to just give him a duvet or buy and aged 2-3 sleeping bag. They’re not exactly cheap at that size so don’t want money going to waste. It’s also potentially a waste of money as he is getting a bit more into trying to climb things so i’m assuming climbing out of the cot will be a possibility in the near future.
Any advice welcome!!

I would go for a child's duvet.

Duvet! When mine were that age they wore a vest and pyjamas to bed. Sometimes socks too if it was chilly.

You don't need to worry about him growing out of it (well not for a couple of years) and it will do the job.

My DD has a duvet but she rarely sleeps under it and prefers to scrunch it up and lay on top.

We had cot bed and converted to bed at about this age kept him in sleeping bag while he adjusted to this then swapped to duvet. Worked well and obviously depends on child but we’re a year on now and still shouts for us if wakes he doesn’t get out of bed!
