The last nap help

Dd is three this month. She did not sleep till fifteen months, now is fairly consistent 12 hours plus after lunch nap.

I've noticed last few weeks she is still awake at 830-9. She is not bothering anyone, just lies quietly with her book.

Does this mean it's time???? I've not put her down today. She is watching a film and playing while baby naps. Remains to be seen what she's like later.

I'm moving her to a bed at weekend, she is still in a large cot.

How do I know? I assume if she asks to nap or is sad I should let her? Or is it a case of once it's done it's done.

My DS is 2.5 and if he naps past 1pm then he is awake until 9pm. So he naps for an hour max now. I presume we’re entering the nearly done with naps phase but I’ll keep putting him down and if he goes to sleep he goes to sleep and if he doesn’t he doesn’t. He does definitely still need a day nap though as by 11.30 he’s ratty.

If he does sleep a bit later into the afternoon he also just lies in his cot chatting to himself of an evening so I just leave him to it and he nods off when he’s ready.

I’ll move him to a bed when he definitely drops his nap.

Not sure if that helps but that where I’m at at the moment!

Your three year old still naps?! Confused

That ship sailed for us at 2.5 with DS1 and 18 months with DS2.

Personally I would ditch it. She clearly doesn't need it.

Yes @PepsiHoover but when I say didn't sleep until 15 months I really mean it. Nearly killed me. So maybe making up for thatGrin

Yes @abouttimemum I'm at about the same point. I guess I just need to see what happens now. Am braced for tantrums later. I dunno I just keep hearing everyone saying they were ready to drop a nap and I'm like so clueless and thinking how do I know...
