Early wake up

Over the last couple of weeks my 10 week old has been waking up about half 4 every morning and has gradually been getting earlier.

He has a nice relaxing lavender bubble bath at 17:30 and baby massage and bottle at 18:00 with a story. We can't put him down straight away as he suffers from reflux and would be sick and is half asleep by the time we put him down. We then do a dream feed at 22:00 and he wakes up at 02:00 for another feed meaning his next feed wouldn't be until 06:00 as he feeds every 4 hours.

He fights sleep during the day no matter how much we try to get him to sleep and will have about an hour or so max during the day so he must be tired to sleep at night. We have no issue settling him for the night and after his night feeds.

We haven't changed anything and follow the same routine so don't know why he decides to wake at this time and not settle again. Would anyone have any idea's why he could be doing this or have any idea's we could try?

I am by no means an expert - first time Mum here to a 17 week old - but didn't want to read & run.

I know it's bloody tough but in experience (which again is not much!), sleep changes so much from one week to the next, by the time you "fix" your current woe, a different maybe more challenging time will be upon you and you'll be wishing you were back to a couple of weeks ago. This has certainly been true for me anyway.

The only thing I can think of is maybe trying to work on the daytime naps to make sure he's getting enough rest during the day. I'm told sleep breeds sleep at this age but who knows!

An over tired baby tends to wake in the very early morning hours, when light sleeping.

You'll probably see an improvement in night sleep if you allow for more frequent daytime naps, with less awake time between naps.

What's baby's current daytime routine?
