Waking from a leaking nappy!

Hello!

My baby is 11 weeks tomorrow and sleeps pretty well at night. He will normally fall asleep between 7 and 8 and then wakes at 7ish. BUT this includes a dream feed at 10pm and another at 3am. I change him at his 10pm dream feed and he stays asleep throughout but recently he has been soaked through by the time I do his 3am feed??

He is currently wearing a next size up nappy as recommended by a few people but still leaks. Can anyone recommend any tips or tricks to try? Or are there special super-duper absorbent night nappies for babies so young? The only night ones I find are a few sizes bigger than what he currently is (2/3)

Try him in a bigger vest? If the one he's wearing is on the small side it can squeeze the nappy and make it leak

What brand are you using op? I have a 6 month old who BFs a lot at night. I can’t remember the last time I changed his nappy at night. We use pampers just at night. Also found aldi premium v good. He lasts 12+ hours in both brands - they’re completely saturated by the morning. I have never been able to change his nappy without fully waking him up at night so only change it if he’s done a poo.

Also one thing I’ve found is some nappies will leak if I put them on too tight. Good luck! X

Are they completely full and all the crystals expanded? If they are then it’s the absorbency but if not then it’s the fit. If it’s the fit then try a different size or brand and that could solve it. As pp said, make sure his vest isn’t too tight or it can cause compression leaks. If it is fully expanded and he’s a heavy wetter you could try adding a cloth nappy booster. Little lamb do a slim double bamboo one. I’ve not tried it myself but know someone who has.

I know how frustrating it is, we went through a stage of having to fully change DS due to leaks too. It only lasted a few weeks though and then seemed to stop so hopefully it will for you too.
