Travel cot for sleep

Hello mums
My Nearly 5 month old baby is starting to look a bit big in his crib & has become very fidgety so I think he is ready for a cot. Problem is my 2 year old is still in the cot & is sleeping well at the moment so I don’t want to move her yet. So as a interim until my daughter moves out of the cot I was going to put my baby in a travel cot - I have bought a super comfy mattress to fit the travel cot. Am I ok to sleep him in the travel cot for a few months? I have heard that you are not supposed to use the travel cot for long periods of time....if not, any other solutions? I really don’t want to buy a 2nd cot as we really don’t have a great deal of space...
Thank you 😊

We used a travel cot for daytime naps for a good 3-4 months and he slept in it overnight a few times, all before 6 months. I’ve never heard the long periods of time rule so I hope it’s not true!
