My baby is six months old next week and is outgrowing her next to me crib. I'm not ready to have her in her own room yet, so I'm thinking of moving her cot into our room for a while. How successful have people been with this? I'm just not ready to not have her next to me but don't want to co sleep!

We put the big cot in our room and moved DS into it at 7m when he outgrew the next2me. I quite liked lying there listening to him breathing and shuffling around so I wanted to keep him with us for a bit longer. It was one of the best things we did sleep wise. We found he’s quite an active sleeper and the next2me had be too small for him to get into his comfortable position. We kept it like that until 10m and then he became a noisy sleeper so moved him to his own room.

We got a travel cot to do this as we weren't ready to put him in his own room.
Worked great!

Yes we did this and it worked fine. Helps get them (/you!) used to it.

Why don't you try a travel cot?
