I swore I wouldn’t do it but I really don’t seen any other option now. My daughter is 8.5 months and her sleep has just got worse and worse since 4 months, we’re at the point now where she wakes practically every 20 minutes and usually has 2 periods of being awake for over an hour overnight. She’s formula fed and still takes a bottle over night which I really don’t think she needs but sometimes I give her it anyway to try and knock her out (it doesn’t work). We have tried everything:

-Co sleeping- she slept better, I didn’t
-Side are cot- made no difference, is nice not having to get up but I think I’m waking more
-Having her in her own room- up for hours overnight

Her naps are good, solidly on 2 naps a day in her cot following 2/3/4 and seems to work well, she usually has about 2.5-3 hours a day but I’ve tried less and more it makes no difference.

She goes down very well for naps and bedtime, into cot awake, a wee play about then tap on the bum for a minute or so and she’s out but these methods don’t work overnight.

I hate the idea of letting her cry but I’m returning to work soon and I can’t work on 4 (broken) hours a night for months.

I am in a similar situation. I’ll be looking into getting a sleep consultant if the situation hasn’t improved before September. Flowers

I’m sorry; that probably wasn’t helpful but I did want you to know you’re not alone!
