Clingy at nap time

Hi, I need some help with my 13 month old. We've always rocked to sleep for naps, bedtime he can go to sleep independently but we've struggled to bring that skill to nap time. We're in the middle of transitioning to 1 nap, we're just following his lead and it's been like this for a while. Rocking to sleep has always worked but over the last week he's become really clingy and as soon as I put him down he'll wake straight up crying to the point I struggle to even get him in his cot to sleep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm resorting to napping on the go and it's not ideal. x

How do you feel about sleep training him to go to sleep in the cot for his nap? Because if you want him napping in the cot, this is what needs to happen.

Another option is to just not put him down for the nap. So get him to sleep in your arms and let him stay therefore for as long as he sleeps.

I used to take mine to bed with me and sleep with them a lot of the time. It was lovely. I wish I could fall asleep like that now!

Completely agree with Maggiesfarm, my DD always needed me near by or needed to be on me for naps. In the end I decided to view it as a positive and had a lay down with her and had a nap too. Miss those nap days!!!
