Have you gone back to the cot after transitioning to bed? (2 5 year old)

Started getting out of bed constantly at bedtime and when he wakes early am. He doesn't understand at 2.5 so I wondered if I should go back to the cot. Anyone done this?

If he’s climbed out of the cot then I don’t think it would be safe to put the sides back on. You might be best putting a stair gate on the room, removing all toys and just silently leading him back to bed every single time he wakes. Try a GroClock for early waking- at 2.5 he should get it.

I would put her back in the cot.

Then stay with her at bedtime to establish acceptable behaviour (primarily that sleep time means lying down)

Stair gate on the door as a first point.

With both of mine a sticker chart for staying in bed worked first night! They both stayed in bed all night in return for a sticker and then a treat after a week or so.

My DD who is not quite 2.5 is currently earning stickers toward a frozen school bag for when she starts pre school. She really wants this bag and won't get out of bed to get these stickers. You can see the concentration on her face when she wants to get out but knows she can't
